meiner Ankunft in Deutschland wurde ich auf das Wort 'Pflege' aufmerksam, das im Englischen mehrere m\u00f6gliche \u00dcbersetzungen hat, darunter <em>care, maintenance, custody, nursing, grooming.<\/em> Ich hatte das Gef\u00fchl, dieses Wort \u00fcberall zu sehen, und ich fand es an ungew\u00f6hnlichen Orten, wie z. B. auf kleinen emaillierten Schildern auf dem Friedhof. Diese kleinen Schilder sind als Anweisungen zu verstehen (z. B. <em>Diese Grabst\u00e4tte muss gepflegt werden<\/em>) \u2013 mit anderen Worten, sie weisen auf eine gew\u00fcnschte Handlung hin. Sie weisen aber auch auf einen Umgang mit Erinnerungen, Empfindungen und einem Gef\u00fchl der Verpflichtung hin.<\/p><p>Im Jahr 2001 habe ich das Wort 'Pflege' und die Idee einer Aufforderung zum Handeln aufgegriffen und die partizipative Performance <strong>M.o.M. (Mammalia ohne M\u00fctter): Ein Pflegeprogramm<\/strong> geschaffen, die \u00fcber mehrere Tage im St\u00e4dtischen Museum Zwickau stattfand.<\/p><p>Das 'Pflegeprogramm' war historischen Pr\u00e4paraten gewidmet \u2013 einige der Hunderte von Exemplaren, die aus dem Nachlass eines Hoftierpr\u00e4parators stammten, der nach seinem Tod Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts seine Pr\u00e4paratensammlung der Stadt Zwickau vermachte. Die Stadt unterhielt die Sammlung bis Anfang der 1970er Jahre in einem Naturkundemuseum. Dann zog der \u00f6rtliche Kunstverein in das Geb\u00e4ude ein, und die Tiere wurden in verschiedene st\u00e4dtische Lagerr\u00e4ume gebracht, wo sie seither ruhen.<\/p><p>Gemeinsam mit einem Museumsmitarbeiter, Herrn Hartmut Tauscher, w\u00e4hlte ich 20 Pr\u00e4parate \u2013 alles S\u00e4ugetiere \u2013 f\u00fcr mein performatives, \u00f6ffentliches und partizipatorisches Pflegeprogramm aus. Ich fotografierte jedes Tier, beschrieb seinen Zustand, und, wenn m\u00f6glich, schamponierte, f\u00f6hnte und k\u00e4mmte ich es. In einigen F\u00e4llen musste der Sockel repariert oder die Nase ein wenig nachgebessert werden. Zum Schluss erhielt jedes Tier ein L\u00e4tzchen, auf das sein deutscher und lateinischer Name gestickt war, bevor ich es an einem w\u00fcrdigen Platz im Museum unterbrachte und es noch einmal in seinem sauberen, gepflegten Zustand fotografierte.<\/p><p>Meine Arbeit in der improvisierten Restaurierungswerkstatt war f\u00fcr alle sichtbar und zum Mitmachen gedacht. Die Besucher waren eingeladen, mir in verschiedenen Stadien dieses Prozesses zu helfen, und sie erhielten f\u00fcr ihre Teilnahme eine M.o.M.-Ehrenschild.<\/p><p>Tats\u00e4chlich wurden diese S\u00e4ugetiere (lateinisch: Mammalia) in diesem Programm mehr als nur gepflegt: Sie wurden 'bemuttert'. Die Dokumentation zeigt das gleiche tote Tier, das nach der Behandlung gl\u00fccklicher aussieht als vorher. Die Tiere, die einst als Jagdtroph\u00e4en oder zur Lehre \u00fcber das Leben aufgespie\u00dft wurden, altern in manchmal atemberaubenden Positionen, obwohl sie konserviert sind.<\/p><p>Die verj\u00fcngten Tierpr\u00e4parate, die das M.o.M.-Pflegeprogramm erfolgreich abgeschlossen haben, blieben mehrere Jahre lang im Museum ausgestellt, um an diesen performativen Eingriff und die Geschichte der Exponate zu erinnern, aber auch als Erinnerung an die Vergangenheit und ihr kulturelles Erbe.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1b55d92 elementor-blockquote--skin-border elementor-widget elementor-widget-blockquote\" data-id=\"1b55d92\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"blockquote.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"elementor-blockquote\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-blockquote__content\">\n\t\t\t\t\"Tieren ohne M\u00fctter kommt endlich ein k\u00fcnstlerischer Brutpflegeinstinkt zu Hilfe.
